WORK HARD … but do it for all the right reasons! God made work for the man (mankind). He didn’t make man for work.
Keep in mind that you can pray for others, love them, and serve them in the workplace even while you establish your family and bless your family members. Work and family are not in competition with each other. Work actually complements family.
Work helps people achieve something of lasting value. We’re talking about families and new life. While the work you do is key to your vocation (God’s call on your life), it’s not the real purpose of your vocation. Your work gives you the opportunity to pray for others, loving and serving them as you acquire resources you will need to establish and support your family! At the bottom line, most people’s vocation is to the family. And work is vital to living out that vocation.
St. Francis de Sales said that we should be who we are and do it well. If you’re feeling like you’re a nobody, start doing something that’s “really you!”
You’ll quickly learn that God doesn’t make nobodies!
Go ahead. You can do it!
If you must strive in this life, strive to live a virtuous life. Your checkbook and savings account will soon be of no avail to you.
Forget past successes and don’t worry about future failures. You might actually touch eternity if you learn to live in the NOW.
The only thing better than doing your best is doing it always! Don’t be satisfied with doing your best just once in your life. Make it a habit! Pray … love … SERVE!
